PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - The body of suspected bank robber who dove into the Arkansas River while trying to escape police in Pueblo has been found.

The Pueblo Chieftain (https://bit.ly/1qYjzVs ) reports that a large amount of cash was found on the body of Jeffrey Cathcart when it was recovered Monday.

Cathcart fled from police to a bridge over the river Thursday. After reportedly taunting officers and removing his shoes, he dove headfirst into the water. He didn’t resurface, leading police to think he was seriously injured when hitting the bridge’s spillway.

His body was found in a low point in the river not far from the bridge.
