MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Madison police say a fatal shooting outside a hotel last weekend was drug-related.

The Dane County medical examiner’s office on Monday identified the victim as 46-year-old Robert France of Portland, Oregon.

France was shot and killed around 9 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel.

Police say France was targeted for “drugs and/or drug money.”

Investigators have not identified or arrested any suspects. The Wisconsin State Journal (https://bit.ly/1sGzgo2) reports police have not said what led up to the homicide.

Police Chief Mike Koval says officers on Sunday found a “vehicle of interest” that may be related to the shooting. Police said the SUV had been reported stolen before Saturday morning.
