WOODBURN, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police say a woman who was struck and killed on Highway 211 near Woodburn was trying to cross the highway in darkness.

She was with another woman who made it safely across about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, but 36-year-old Amanda Hockett of Beaverton was killed.

KGW reports (https://bit.ly/1n4tdGX) the driver cooperated with investigators and there was no indication he was at fault.
