WAYNE, N.J. (AP) - Former U.S. Rep. Robert Roe of New Jersey was remembered as a tireless public servant.

About 100 people turned out in Wayne for the Democrat’s funeral on Monday. The 90-year-old died last Tuesday.

Roe served 23 years in Congress, chairing the Public Works and Transportation Committee before he retired in 1992.

Former Rep. Frank Guarini, who served with Roe, tells The Record (https://bit.ly/1mz51aD ) newspaper Roe’s greatest legacy was always there for the people.
