MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Grizzlies controlling owner Robert Pera has promoted Jason Wexler to president of business operations for the team and FedExForum.

Pera said in a statement Wednesday that he and Wexler share a clear vision for growing the Grizzlies’ organization. He also noted how Wexler revamped the franchise’s business analytics, sales and marketing and digital areas.

Wexler had been chief operating officer for Memphis since 2013. He also has been president of a real estate firm, founded a real estate development and investment firm and a partner at a Memphis law firm.

He said in a statement that he is honored by Pera’s trust that he can lead the organization and wants to build on the team’s bond with Memphis.
