EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (AP) - Investigators say they believe alcohol was a factor in a highway wreck that killed one person and left another in critical condition.

Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon tells KUTV (https://bit.ly/WGrJZw) the crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Cannon says a woman in her 20’s drifted into oncoming traffic on State Route 73 about 40 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. She was flown to Utah Valley Hospital with critical injuries.

One person in the other car was killed. A father and three children were travelling in that vehicle. A dog in one of the cars also died in the crash.

Police say they found alcohol in the woman’s car. Cannon says a previous DUI fatal crash occurred on the same road last year.
