SUFFIELD, Conn. (AP) - A boy has died after being struck by a truck while riding his bicycle in Suffield.

WFSB-TV reports (bit.ly/1rzSQjX) that Francis Anthony Alamo was struck by a box truck as he was riding his bicycle with a group of children. It happened around 2:45 p.m. Thursday near the Suffield Middle School.

The boy, a seventh grade student, was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Suffield Superintendent of Schools Karen Baldwin says Francis was “a bright, creative young man” who “brought energy and enthusiasm” to his classes and activities.

The cause of the crash is being investigated. No charged have been filed against the truck driver.
