TAMARAC, Fla. (AP) - A Broward Sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a dog that came at him at least three times.

Authorities say someone called 911 Thursday morning regarding an attempted dog bite.

The deputy responded and “dodged” the dog several times before firing his weapon.

The dog died from the gunshot wound.

The deputy wasn’t injured.

Animal control was called to the scene and is attempting to contact the dog’s owner.
