NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) - A Newport-based Coast Guard crew came to the aid of a commercial fishing vessel that was taking on water about 10 miles north of the Yaquina (yuh-KEEN-uh) Bay bar.

A Coast Guard spokesman says the crew passed portable dewatering equipment to the 60-foot fishing vessel Endeavor and escorted it to the Port of Newport.

Three people were aboard the fishing vessel Thursday morning. They radioed the Coast Guard to report flooding in the engine room.

There were no reports of pollution.
