WYANDOTTE, Mich. (AP) - Replicas of ships used by Christopher Columbus are sailing into a Michigan harbor.

The Detroit News reports (https://bit.ly/1nWxhEo ) the Nina and Pinta replicas will be harbored in Wyandotte for six days in August. The Columbus Foundation says the Nina replica was hand-built without power tools. The Pinta was recently built in Brazil.

Columbus used the original Nina and Pinta during his trans-Atlantic journeys starting in 1492.

The floating museums will be open daily at Bishop Park from Aug. 13-19.
