MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A Dane County sheriff’s deputy was knocked unconscious while trying to make an arrest in Madison.

Authorities say Deputy Brian Biwer struggled with a suspect about 3 a.m. Thursday and struck his head on a road. He was knocked out for a short period of time. The deputy was taken to a local hospital and later released.

The 24-year-old Madison man involved in the struggle was arrested and taken to jail.
