PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office says detectives have recovered a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that was reported stolen in 2001.

Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Alexander says detectives got the car Wednesday after serving a search warrant in unincorporated east Multnomah County.

Alexander says the Plymouth is not drivable, and many of its essential parts and components are missing.

KATU-TV reports that the rightful owner is Rick White, who bought the car new in 1970 and raced it at Portland International Raceway.

White said the vehicle was stolen from his garage in southeast Portland in 2001.
