WIXOM, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Institute of Arts is going to start putting up reproductions of paintings at outdoor sites throughout the area.

This marks the fifth year of the DIA’s Inside/Out project.

More than 80 high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the museum’s collection will be placed in eight communities this summer.

That’s to begin in Wixom on Thursday.

Workers are scheduled to continue the installation process in Brownstown Township and Dearborn on Friday; in Detroit’s downtown and riverfront areas on Saturday and Sunday; in St. Clair Shores and Mount Clemens on Monday; and in Royal Oak and Oak Park on Tuesday.

Over the past four years, the DIA has installed hundreds of reproductions in dozens of communities across Michigan.
