JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Former Arkansas State University track and field All-American Sharika Nelvis is one of two of the Sun Belt Conference’s nominees for the 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

Nelvis is one of more than 120 NCAA female student-athletes from multiple sports in NCAA Divisions I, II and III selected as a 2014 Woman of the Year nominee by their athletics conferences and by independent institutions.

Nelvis was the 2014 NCAA Division I national champion in the indoor 60-meter hurdles and the outdoor champion in the 100-meter hurdles.

Louisiana-Lafayette softball player Natalie Fernandez is the conference’s other nominee.

The 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year Award winner will be announced on Oct. 19.
