ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia health officials are seeking public input on an assistance program.

The annual public comment period for the Department of Public Health’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, or WIC, will run from Aug. 1 through Aug. 31.

Georgians are invited to comment on the program’s successes and to make suggestions for improvement during that time.

Georgia WIC director Debra Keyes says department staff will review the comments and use them to update the annual program plan.

The WIC program aims to provide nutrition education and food selections to promote good health and positive food choices.

Those wishing to make comments can go to the WIC website, click on the public comment link and complete the survey.
