FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - Police say a man called officers to turn himself in after a woman’s body was found in a western Arkansas home.

The Southwest Times Record reports (https://bit.ly/WFwanB ) 21-year-old Douglas True called Fort Smith police to turn himself in on Sunday. When police arrived, they found the body of 22-year-old Briana Butler inside. She was pregnant, and her fetus was also dead.

Police say True told officers he and Butler argued and then fought. True said he was intoxicated and couldn’t remember what happened after that. He said he got up in the middle of the night, found Butler’s body in the bathroom and then passed out on the couch.

He’s in jail without bond while he awaits charges.

Sebastian County Circuit Court says True doesn’t have an attorney yet.
