EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A convicted sex offender has pleaded not guilty after being charged with inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl in a swimming pool.

Police say 63-year-old Raymond Dubord, of Bristol, kept trying to talk to the girl, then swam up to her and touched her at a gym in East Providence.

Police Lt. Armen Garo says Dubord then approached her again and put his finger up to his lips, as if telling her to keep it a secret.

The girl’s grandmother reported it to the gym, and then called police.

Dubord was arrested Wednesday and pleaded not guilty Thursday. He said in a phone interview that it was a crowded pool and he doesn’t know if he touched her.

Dubord pleaded no contest to child molestation and sexual assault in 1993.
