DRY TORTUGAS, Fla. (AP) - U.S. Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife crews are searching for a person in the water following a boat collision near the Dry Tortugas.

The Coast Guard received an alert regarding someone in the water Friday morning from a fishing vessel in the area.

Officials say crews found a partially submerged fishing boat and a damaged fishing vessel. Two people had been reported in the water after the collision, but a man was pulled to safety by a good Samaritan. The man was not wearing a life jacket but wasn’t reported to have any medical conditions.

It’s not known whether the missing boater was wearing a life jacket.

The Coast Guard is asking boaters to keep an eye out for the missing person.
