TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Republican Congressman Frank Lucas has been recognized as a “Champion of Agriculture” from the nation’s largest coalition of farm, ranch and agribusiness women.

The lawmaker recently received the award from the American Agri-Women, which presents the honor each year to those selected as outstanding members of Congress for their work to uphold the ideals of American agriculture to their peers.

Lucas represents Oklahoma’s 3rd Congressional district that includes all or portions of 32 counties in northern and western Oklahoma and serves as chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture.

Lucas’ family has lived and farmed in Oklahoma for more than 100 years, the women’s group noted.
