GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A fire has gutted an eight-unit apartment building in Grand Rapids.

No injuries are reported following the Thursday evening fire, which sent smoke billowing into the air that was visible from far away.

The cause is under investigation. The Grand Rapids Press reports (https://bit.ly/1pQH026 ) that neighbors say that a boy burning leaves may have started the blaze. Whitney Lott, who lives in the building, says she saw the boy burning leaves then run away.
