TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Brooks Grocery plans a 27,000-square-foot supermarket that will employ 65 to 75 people in west Tupelo.

Owner Brooks Davis tells the Daily Journal (https://bit.ly/1nFemUw ) that the store should open in the spring, and will be his company flagship.

He says he had been looking at building a store in the area for about six years, and came close - but instead bought and renovated his first store in Iuka.

Davis says the location is ideal - near several subdivisions, a stop light and the Tupelo Furniture Market.

The original Brooks Grocery is in a building Davis bought and renovated in Iuka.
