JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana Goodwill office is auditing its stores in nine counties amid concerns that some customers’ credit card numbers may have been stolen.

The News and Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1nF3AgY ) that Goodwill of Southern Indiana was recently contacted by a credit card investigative unit and federal officials.

Goodwill of Southern Indiana chief executive officer Candace Barksdale says the group was told some Goodwill store locations in the U.S. may have been victims of possible theft of payment card numbers.

She says so far no southern Indiana Goodwill stores have been found involved in that scam. But Barksdale says the audits are being conducted as a precaution to protect Goodwill customers.

Goodwill of Southern Indiana stores are located in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Lawrence, Scott and Washington counties.
