DENVER (AP) - A grand jury has indicted five people in the deadly shooting of a Sudanese immigrant who was not the intended target.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday announced the indictments in the December 2011 killing of 43-year-old Youn Malual (Yoon Mal-you-al), who was found shot in the head outside his apartment complex. Police say he was mistaken for the intended victim, who also lived there.

Indicted were 22-year-old Devon Grant-Washington; 28-year-old Brandon Jackson; 27-year-old Urocca Guyton; 26-year-old Amin El-Howeris; and 26-year-old Bruce Roberts. All five are in custody, but court records do not list attorneys for them.

Roberts has been charged with accessory to murder. The others were charged with first-degree murder.

Malual was a father of five who fled civil war in what is now South Sudan.
