SALIDA, Colo. (AP) - The body of a Utah woman has been found in the Arkansas River, not far from where she was tossed from a raft Saturday.

The body of 31-year-old Amanda Taylor of Vernal was found Wednesday night by her brother in the Arkansas River in Salida (suh-LY’-duh), about three miles from where she fell in. Her family had been helping searchers.

An autopsy done Thursday confirmed that she drowned.

Undersheriff John Spezze says searchers had repeatedly looked as far as 30 miles downstream and along the river’s banks for Taylor but the murkiness of the water and its high level made it difficult to see.

Taylor was rafting with six others when their raft overturned. Five made it to shore and authorities rescued a 22-year-old man clinging to the raft.
