NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - The superintendent of North Platte Public Schools has resigned.

The district’s board of education said in a press release Thursday it will formally vote at its next meeting to accept the resignation of Marty Bassett.

Additional information about the resignation was not available.

The North Platte Telegraph reports (https://bit.ly/1rqFqbp ) officials will fill the position with an interim superintendent for the upcoming school year. They will spend the next few months searching for a permanent replacement.
