MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies have hired Jeff Bzdelik as an assistant on Dave Joerger’s staff.

The team announced the decision on Thursday, but did not release details of his contract.

Bzdelik went 73-119 as the Denver Nuggets’ head coach from 2002-04. He also has been head coach at Maryland-Baltimore County (1986-88), Air Force (2005-07) and Wake Forest (2010-14). Wake Forest announced Bzdelik’s resignation in March after he went 51-76 in four seasons.

The addition of Bzdelik was one of several changes announced by the Grizzlies on Thursday.

Grizzlies officials also announced the addition of John Townsend as director of player development and Trevor Moawad as mental endurance coach. Jason March was promoted to assistant/coach advance scout. Drew Graham was promoted to head athletic trainer and vice president of player care.
