PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - More than 400 more Florida veterans have received honors from Gov. Rick Scott.

The governor held ceremonies Thursday in Pensacola and Panama City as part of a week of events honoring veterans in the lead-up to the Fourth of July.

In Pensacola, 227 veterans were given the Governor’s Veterans Service Award in an event at the headquarters of the 153rd Cavalry. In Panama City, 193 veterans received the award at the headquarters of the 1-153rd Cavalry.

Scott held similar ceremonies earlier this week in West Palm Beach, Orlando and Jacksonville.
