CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper man faces charges of burglary and grand larceny following the theft of almost $50,000 from a credit union last month.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/TUratc ) that 20-year-old Kevin Markus Walsh is being held at the Natrona County Center on $75,000 bail.

Police charge that Walsh used a key belonging to a family member to gain access to the First Credit Union. They charge he covered security cameras with tape and entered the building before dawn on June 14.

Police say Walsh became a suspect after they learned he was about to buy a new vehicle with cash. They say he later led authorities to the cash hidden in his basement. Police recovered over $47,740 and a rifle from the residence.
