BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Severe weather is affecting some Fourth of July celebrations in central North Dakota.

Marlo Anderson co-chairs the parade in Mandan. Anderson tells KXMB-TV the parade has been cancelled due to lighting in the area. Anderson says it’s unclear whether it will be rescheduled.

Rick Krolak with the National Weather Service in Bismarck says lightning and thunderstorms are possible throughout others parts of central North Dakota.

Krolak says there’s also a chance of severe weather in eastern North Dakota starting in the afternoon and moving into the evening.
