MERIDITH, N.H. (AP) - Winds from Hurricane Arthur kicked up a waterspout on New Hampshire’s biggest lake.

WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/Vr9gzm ) reports the waterspout was spotted Friday evening on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith. Video posted on the station’s website shows the spout looming over the lake.

The National Weather Service defines a waterspout as a tornado that forms over water, or moves from land to water.

Arthur didn’t menace the state as predicted though it still spawned thunderstorms, high winds and heavy rains.
