WATERBURY, Vt. (AP) - The Agency of Transportation says construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of US 2 and Vermont Route 100 in Waterbury is set to begin.

The municipally managed project will begin on Monday.

The roundabout is the first of a series of projects planned for Waterbury over the next five years including work on Interstate 89, Stowe Street and routes 2 and 100.

The $3.9 million project is going to be managed so two-way traffic will be able to continue during construction.

Waterbury Town Manager Bill Shepeluk says the roundabout should allow traffic to flow more freely through the intersection.
