LAMAR, Miss. (AP) - Authorities are still looking for people who killed a Benton County man.

Derrick Sanders, a 45-year-old resident of the Lamar community, was found dead and naked in a yard on Mississippi Highway 7 just after dawn Friday.

Marshall County Coroner Richard Anderson tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (https://bit.ly/1jTU0QZ) that Sanders had been stabbed, shot and beaten sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Friday. His clothes were lying next to him when his body was found.

A dispatcher with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office says Saturday that authorities have no further information to release.

A man on a backhoe discovered Sanders’ body.

Anderson says the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations are seeking clues in the slaying, but at this time there are no suspects.
