DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say mechanical problems may have been the cause of a DeKalb County wreck that killed two people.

DeKalb police Capt. Stephen Fore told WSB-TV that a preliminary investigation indicated that a Honda Odyssey ran into the back of a AAA Cooper Transportation tractor-trailer that had stopped because of mechanical difficulties.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 285.

The television station reports 43-year-old Sri Susanto was in the front passenger seat of the Odyssey and died at the scene. A 10-year-old passenger in the minivan, Herbert Lin, died at a hospital.

Fore says the minivan’s driver, 43-year-old Kumi Saprong was in fair condition at a hospital and a 13-year-old boy was in a hospital and was expected to survive.

The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t injured.
