STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a southern New Jersey man suffered severe head trauma when he apparently jumped from a moving vehicle.

Stafford police tell The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1m3FV8l) that their initial investigation shows 18-year-old Deshawn Powell had been arguing with his girlfriend shortly before he jumped around 8 p.m. Friday. They say his head struck the pavement and he had a seizure.

Powell was flown to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition on Saturday. Further details on his condition were not disclosed.

No charges have been filed in the case, but the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have not said what the couple was arguing about.
