BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A man and a woman have been killed in separate shootings in Bridgeport as police investigate a burst of violence.

Police say 23-year-old Abraham Davidson had been with a small group of people including his brother when he was fatally shot on a city street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses say they heard shots but didn’t see the shooter or shooters.

Shortly before 4 a.m., domestic shooting killed 24-year-old Kiromy Fontanez and wounded a man who tried to stop the gunman. Police say Fontanez was shot by her 37-year-old boyfriend, who faces murder and first-degree assault charges.

Earlier, hosts called police to help break up a large house party shortly after midnight. Gunfire erupted before officers arrived and three people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police say the victims aren’t cooperating.
