PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police have arrested a suspect in an early morning stabbing that left one person dead.

Authorities say a 22-year-old man was in an altercation at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday when the suspect stabbed him in the chest. They say the suspect drove away in a 2007 black Chevy Impala with several previous bullet holes in it.

Police say officers later stopped 43-year-old Michael Monroe and arrested him. He is being held in Allegheny County Jail on charges including criminal homicide, simple assault and terroristic threats.

It was not immediately known if Monroe had a lawyer.
