BOSTON (AP) - Women’s rights activists are planning what they call a “Supreme Rally for Women’s Equality” to highlight two recent Supreme Court rulings - including the decision invalidating Massachusetts’ 35-foot “buffer zone” around abortion clinic entrances.

The rally is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday at Boston City Hall Plaza.

Protesters also hope to focus attention on a separate ruling that found some companies with religious objections can avoid the contraceptives requirement in President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

Organizers say the twin court rulings will reduce access to reproductive health services and birth control and put women and health care providers at risk.

The rally is being organized by several groups including the ACLU of Massachusetts, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts and Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts.

Lawmakers are considering drafting new protections for patients entering abortion clinics.
