TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says it’s suspended a search for the owner of a Sea-Doo after the personal watercraft was found in Grand Traverse Bay with the keys in the ignition and no operator.

The Coast Guard says someone reported finding the 8-foot black and yellow watercraft overturned Friday evening in West Grand Traverse Bay near Traverse City.

The Coast Guard says rescue crews used a 45-foot response boat and a Dolphin rescue helicopter in the search.

The Coast Guard says the Sea-Doo’s registration number is MC5241RR, but that the watercraft no longer is registered to the correct owner.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher Yaw tells MLive.com that the Coast Guard is still trying to locate the owner but no longer is searching the bay.
