AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Sheriff’s officials in eastern Georgia say a teen was hospitalized after a drive-by shooting outside a shopping center.

Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Lewis Blanchard tells the Augusta Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1q8RsSR ) about five shots were fired from a tan SUV and hit the windows of a nearby restaurant on Saturday night.

Blanchard says one of the shots hit a 14-year-old boy in his upper chest and his injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

The shooting is under investigation and a detailed description of the suspect wasn’t immediately available.
