PORT AUSTIN, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in the Traverse City area say they found the body of a boater who disappeared over the weekend in Boardman Lake.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports the body of 60-year-old Buddy Edward Schardt of Traverse City was found Saturday night. The newspaper says he was boating with two other men when he went swimming in the lake and became distressed.

Meanwhile, authorities released the name of a man who died Saturday in Lake Huron after he was unable to reach a breakwater at Port Austin harbor, about 115 miles north of Detroit. WSGW-AM reports he’s identified as 25-year-old Selim Mahmutovic of Hamtramck.

Authorities say he was swimming with his 23-year-old brother, who made it to land.
