CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a 72-year-old man whose boat apparently capsized in the St. Clair River.

The Times Herald of Port Huron and The Detroit News report the boater’s wife, who was on land in St. Clair County’s Clay Township, called 911 about 9:50 p.m. Sunday to say she heard him yelling.

Authorities say they found the Clay Township man unresponsive about an hour later. First responders attempted to revive the man and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man’s 12-foot aluminum boat was found nearby.

The search took place about 35 miles northeast of Detroit. The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.
