BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (AP) - The coroner says a woman who drowned in western Pennsylvania was wading in the Beaver River and couldn’t swim.

Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi says 29-year-old Pheran Hoschar, of Beaver Falls, was wading in a portion of the river that suddenly drops to a depth of 14 feet when she went under about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say the woman’s friends tried to find and save her but couldn’t. The Beaver Falls Fire Department Diving Team recovered her body about two hours later.
