SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (AP) - Two people are dead in boating accidents over the weekend.

Seventy-year-old Charles Emery of Denver died while rafting with eight other people on the Blue River north of Silverthorne on Sunday afternoon.

The circumstances aren’t clear. Charles Pitman of the Summit County Rescue Group says the other eight passengers from the privately-owned raft also ended up in the water but were quickly found. One was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

KYSL-FM reports that person in an inflatable kayak also died over the weekend in the Colorado River at or near the Needles Eye rapid near State Bridge.
