Oslo, Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, made the cut Monday when the IOC announced the list of finalists for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Some of the key facts and figures from the IOC’s working group report on the three bids:



Proposed dates: Feb. 12-27.

Construction budget: $2.75 billion.

Public support: national opinion poll early 2014: 36 percent.

Best IOC ratings (out of 10): sports experience (10), doping control (10), environment and weather (9.5), energy (9.5).

Worst IOC ratings: government and public support (7).

Longest travel times: 2 hours, 15 minutes, from Oslo to Alpine and sliding sport venues in Lillehammer.



Proposed dates: Feb. 4-20.

Construction budget: $3.78 billion.

Public support: IOC poll: 66 percent in Almaty and surrounding areas.

Best IOC ratings: games concept and competition venues (8.5).

Worst IOC ratings: environment and weather (6), energy (6).

Longest travel times: 60 minutes from Almaty to Alpine ski venue of Shymbulak.



Proposed dates: Feb. 4-20.

Construction budget: $2.239 billion.

Public support: Bid committee poll from January 2014: 95 percent in China, 92 percent in Beijing. IOC poll in Beijing and greater area: 77 percent.

Best IOC ratings: finance and marketing (9), government and public support (9), safety & security (9), telecommunications (9).

Worst IOC ratings: environment & weather (7)

Longest travel times: 2 hours, 44 minutes, from Beijing to Nordic ski venues in Zhangjiakou.
