LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) - Police say weapons and bomb-making materials have been removed from the Lawrence home of a man who died earlier his year.

Police say Daniel Stadleman died of a heart attack in May at age 40.

Officers and a hazardous materials crew went to the home Sunday after getting a call from his mother.

Police tell The Eagle-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1n02M03 ) they found two rifles, a pellet gun and a crossbow and what they believed to be a pipe bomb and other bomb-making materials, including powder and fuses.

Residents of several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution although police say there was never any danger.

Methuen police searched a storage unit belonging to the same man but found no further weapons or sign of bomb making material.

No one was charged.
