LOS ANGELES (AP) - A nurse who committed a sex act with a corpse at a Southern California hospital has been sentenced to two years in county jail.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1kwQuMG ) 62-year-old Alejandro Razo was also ordered to serve 180 days of the two-year sentence under supervised release.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said Monday that during his release Razo must attend weekly counseling sessions and sex offender meetings.

The Reseda resident was found guilty last month of having sex with the body of an 82-year-old woman who died of natural causes at Sherman Oaks Hospital.

He was arrested in January 2013 after another nurse found Razo with his pants down as he had sex with the corpse.

Prosecutors say they used DNA evidence to convict Razo.
