LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A Marine stationed in California is dead after a watercraft accident on Lake Havasu along the Arizona border.

Mohave County Sheriff’s officials identified the victim Monday as 23-year-old Chad Ryan Brammer of Lambertville, Michigan. He had been stationed at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base.

Authorities say the accident occurred about 3 p.m. Friday in the lake’s South Basin across from Copper Canyon.

They say Brammer was operating a personal watercraft and reportedly crossed the bow of a 31-foot boat that had six people aboard.

Brammer was wearing a lifejacket and was thrown into the water after the collision.

Someone in another boat pulled Brammer from the water and called 911.

Brammer was taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where he pronounced dead.

Sheriff’s officials say the accident is under investigation.
