WYOMING, Mich. (AP) - Officials in the western Michigan community of Wyoming say that about 40 homes were damaged by falling trees during a severe storm.

Mayor Jack Poll tells The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1jgL3H0 ) on Monday that there are “lots and lots of trees down, lots of wires down.”

Officials say Ideal Park has significant damage and has been closed until further notice.

Firefighters and police are going door-to-door to check on residents. Poll says city crews are clearing trees from roads to help utility crews.
