DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Officials say a woman from western New York state was killed over the weekend when her kayak overturned in the Delaware River in suburban Philadelphia.

The (Doylestown) Intelligencer (https://bit.ly/TYFZLh ) reports the 50-year-old woman from North Tonawanda was kayaking with relatives as part of an annual outing.

But officials say fast-moving water prevented them from stopping at Prahls Island in the Virginia Forest Recreation Area, and the woman’s kayak overturned and she became stuck.

Relatives got her out of the water and performed CPR, and a motorboat helped transport the victim down to Bucks County River Country.

The Bucks County coroner on Monday identified the victim as Jody Walker. He says the cause of death was accidental drowning.
