OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City firefighters responding to a trash container fire found themselves the targets of fireworks shooters.

The fire crew was in northeast Oklahoma City early Sunday when they say rocket-type fireworks were shot at them from a nearby apartment complex. One firefighter told police that one of the rockets landed at his feet and the explosion caused a temporary hearing loss.

Firefighters called police for help shortly after midnight and officers later arrested two suspects on complaints of the use or threat to use an explosive, incendiary or simulated bomb to damage or injure a person or property.

Deputy Fire Chief Marc Woodard told The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1mCIZcG ) that the firefighter with the temporary hearing loss is recovering and did not require medical attention.
